The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges is excited to invite you to Curriculum Institute 2020! Being held in Riverside July 9-11 with pre-sessions on July 8, the theme Responsive Curriculum & Collective Impact speaks to the need for curriculum and curriculum processes that are responsive and inclusive and the recognition that everyone – faculty, classified professionals, administrators, students, and more – is important in shaping curriculum and the impact it has on California community college students and communities.
Breakouts will cover a wide variety of curriculum-related topics including curriculum basics, guiding regulations, roles within curriculum processes, ADT/UCTP transfer alignment, C-ID, noncredit, cooperative work experience, articulation, designing curriculum through an equity lens, placement, intersections of financial aid and curriculum, assigning courses to disciplines, access and accessibility, credit hour and attendance accounting, dual enrollment, and more. Topics will also address on-going opportunities and challenges related to guided pathways, AB705, and the Chancellor’s Office curriculum inventory system and new efforts related to competency based education and emergency guidelines. Specific topics and breakouts will be oriented toward faculty, administrators, and curriculum specialists.
The July 8 afternoon pre-sessions will include sessions for new/newer curriculum chairs and committee members, new/newer curriculum specialists, new/newer curriculum administrators, and, for the first time, new/newer articulation officers.
All are welcome…register soon!
